disabling logon scripts

There is a logon script which gets executed during logon on the Windows machines(NT,XP,2000).This was configured on the domain server like,to execute this script during any user login.

How can I disable this to be running on my PC during login?

Thanks

Re: disabling logon scripts

Hi:

Using WINXP, go to Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Local Users and Groups, the duoble-click on the user and select the Profile tab. There, it should show the path to the Login Script. If not, you'll have to follow the same procedure on the domain server. Once you have the path to the script file, you can edit it with a text editor or rename it to keep it from running.

Good luck and Happy New Year!

Re: disabling logon scripts

I am not a domain admin to access the domain server scripts.
It is already put in place in the domain server and I am just using the desktop and I need to disable it.
Are there any ideas?

Re: disabling logon scripts

If it's a Domain login script, there is no way to avoid it during login.

But..... Disconnect the lan cable during boot. The system will use the local cached profile. Afterwards (at the desktop, or during mapped drive connection) re-attach the cable.

or..... reboot into single-user mode and change the root password. :-)
