doubt reg SLM and ILM
When allocating memory during the time of Vpar creation, i came across the terms ILM and SLM(Socket Level Memory).
I want simple explanation about these terms and how these impact .

Re: question regarding SLM and ILM
ILM Interleaved Memory is the memory from multiple blades.
SLM (Socket Level Memory) is local to the current socket. Which I assume is similar to the current Cell Local Memory from previous Superdomes.
The latter is closer to the CPU/core so has a faster access. The former is needed because you may need a total memory size from multiple blades.

Re: doubt reg SLM and ILM
Cell Local Memory (CLM) is memory where each cacheline comes from the same cell. Hence accesses to a cacheline are local to that cell.
Interleaved Memory (ILM) is when the firmware provides physical memory which is addressable by CPUs as contiguous memory
