file space utilization : Media Recovery Waiting for thread 1 seq

hi

we had a file space utilization in oracle about 85% and dba has resolved it.

he sent a mail stating

Every log file Containing following

Media Recovery Waiting for thread 1 seq# 47898

Media Recovery Log /db002/SW2/SW2_arch/SW247898.ARC

Media Recovery Waiting for thread 1 seq# 47899

Media Recovery Log /db002/SW2/SW2_arch/SW247899.ARC

what does it refer to and how should I react to this, since i am in DR site logs are applied from DC.

These messages are from an Oracle database in recovery mode. The database is waiting for the next archive log in the sequence to be applied to continue recovery.

If the database is being recovered, or if you are running Oracle Dataguard -- which keeps the database in a recovery state -- these messages are normal. If there is a dataguard, or similar, configuration, the archive logs will be automatically transfered to the system and applied as they arrive. If the transfer was interrupted, you may need to manually apply the logs.
