filesystem not mounting

I'm having HP Proliant server, with linux os . Linux mcp2 2.6.9-78.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Jul 9 15:46:26 EDT 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux At the time of booting the filesystems /backup and /backup2 are not mounting automatically . The system is gettiing stuck in this position "SElinux Disabled at runtime" . And the server will not come up . The two filesystems are created from the external storage which is connected to the storage MSA20 . The whole storage is partitioned as /backup and /backup2 . Both are not mounting automatically and the system will got stuck over this position. May i know what will be the cause of this problem . Alsoo one more error has got encountered Jun 20 08:11:47 mcp2 cmaeventd[3322]: Cache battery failed: storage system attached to Array Controller in slot 4, DIMM(cache board) is failed. Jun 20 08:11:47 mcp2 cmaeventd[3322]: Cache enabled: storage system attached to Array Controller in slot 4 Jun 20 08:11:56 mcp2 cmafcad[3352]: Accelerator Board status change. Chassis name: Q007MLJ1D2, I/O slot: 0. Status is now Enabled. Jun 20 08:12:47 mcp2 cmaeventd[3322]: Cache battery failed: storage system attached to Array Controller in slot 4, DIMM(cache board) is failed. Jun 20 08:12:47 mcp2 cmaeventd[3322]: Cache disabled: storage system attached to Array Controller in slot 4 Jun 20 08:13:12 mcp2 cmafcad[3352]: Accelerator Board status change. Chassis name: Q007MLJ1D2, I/O slot: 0. Status is now Temporarily Disabled. Jun 20 08:13:12 mcp2 cmafcad[3352]: Accelerator Board Battery Failed. Chassis name: Q007MLJ1D2, I/O slot: 0. Jun 20 08:15:01 mcp2 crond(pam_unix)[30095]: session opened for user root by (uid=0) And backup was failing also since 2-3 months . May i get the root cause for these problems . Server is stuck at this message "SElinux Disabled at runtime"

PS: I have no glue about Linux so you need to ask in the Linux forum if you cannot find a solution in the search results

Re: filesystem not mounting

Are the 2 filesystems listed in /etc/fstab?

Can you mount them manually?

The error pointed to SELinux.  What is the output of getenforce?

Re: filesystem not mounting

Shalom,

Please post the error message.

mount /<filesystem mount point>
# If the filesystem is in /etc/fstab

Post errors to this procedure.

fsck is usually needed to fix corrupt file systems. It is very good. Find out whether the fs is ext3 or ext4 before using fsck.
