frecover(2114)

Hi all,
I got a following error while restoration operation was going on
frecover(2114): read error from input device (I/O error)
Memory fault(coredump)
As per my observation it may be the problem of DAT. I used cleaning DAT to eliminate it but problem still persists.
Moreover, if DAT was corrupted then why it didn't alert me while taking backup.
Waiting for response..

Regards,
Mehul

Re: frecover(2114)

I hope the problem is occured after backup?! Try to check input device status before recovering.

Re: frecover(2114)

hi mehul,

can you do a small test to check if you tape drive is OK?

tar -cvf ....

(use a spare tape)

see if you get the same type of error messages

kind regards

Hi Mehul,

Do you have the latest patches for the SCSI tape and frecover?

#swlist -l patch|grep - tape
#swlist -l patch|grep -i frecover

Please post the output...
