I got a following error while restoration operation was going on
frecover(2114): read error from input device (I/O error)
Memory fault(coredump)
As per my observation it may be the problem of DAT. I used cleaning DAT to eliminate it but problem still persists.
Moreover, if DAT was corrupted then why it didn't alert me while taking backup.

Solutioncan you do a small test to check if you tape drive is OK?
tar -cvf ....
(use a spare tape)
see if you get the same type of error messages

Do you have the latest patches for the SCSI tape and frecover?
#swlist -l patch|grep - tape
#swlist -l patch|grep -i frecover
