Hi!
Anybody knows if are there some file that keeps the cause of a filesystem corruption? ( in linux Red Hat)

Hmm, I would imagine that fsck would be logged to /var/log/messages, but I'm not 100% certain on that. It does give fairly detailed messages while it runs, though.

Hello,
I don't think that there is a log file for fsck. I guess the reason could be the following : at the step the operating system does "fsck", it considers that filesystems are potentially corrupted, and it would probably be a bad idea to write log file on a "potentially" corrupted filesystem.
But I'm not sure of this.
