full the archive gaps in the physical standby database

Hi all,

i have question suppose my physical standby database is not sync for abt 1 day with primary database due to archive gaps.
About 10 archive logs are not in sync.i have deleted the 10 archive logs without taking backup.
In this case how to sync the physical standby database with primary database .

Thanks,
Nirmal.

Re: full the archive gaps in the physical standby database

Take a full backup from the primary database, then restore it to the standby database.

I'm not a DBA, but as far as I know, there is no way to reconstruct those missing archive logs.

hi Nirmal,

I also agree with MK, better do a full restore. If you are using RMAN this will be quite straight-forward.

good luck!

kind regards

Re: full the archive gaps in the physical standby database

Hi,
There is no way to resync the database with the primary one.So it will be bette to take a cold backup of your primary database and restore it to standby database.
Before "Archive log delete rman" backup take a file system backup of the Archive logs. Then there is no change to missing archive logs.

Thanks & Regards
