hardware messages from syslog?

I have a SpectraLogic tape libary using Symantec's Netbackup product on an hpux 11.11 server. Syslog constantly generates the following, has anyone see identical messages:

Aug 11 12:10:51 jear3440 tldcd[3346]: tldcd.c.2695, newfd = INVALID_SOCKET, newf
d=-1, timersig=1, error=4, EINTR=4, selectret=-1

Re: hardware messages from syslog?

Looks like Netbackup problems -- possibly NOT a HW issue.

Do a "dmesg" -- if you have HW (Tape Library/Drive) problems -- it should show.

Have you tried restarting NBU?

Re: hardware messages from syslog?

Shalom,

That looks like software a networking socket, not a hardware problem.

Re: hardware messages from syslog?

Frederick... I do recall we had a similar issue in the past and it was due to a tape media inside the library that has no BarCode Label.

But to ensure this is really no hardware issue... do a "dmesg" and if you see something HW'ish -- pst your dmesg

Re: hardware messages from syslog?

HW then.
You could have a bad drive or SAN issues.
