how do I install a cdimage?

Hi,

I just downloaded a trial version of performance manager. The file is named B7490-15223.cdimage. How do I install this file? Do I have to burn it to a CD-ROM before I can install it? And is the cdimage image the same as an ISO image?

Why doesn't HP deliver it as a tgz file or something like that....

regards

Shalom,

HP normally delivers software intended for HP-UX in depot format. You then install with swinstall.

A cdimage is probably and iso image and as far as I know you'll have to burn it before you use it.

Yes, you will have to burn it to CD as it is an image file. Try going to the following link and downloading the "depot" file. Then you can just intall it with swinstall.

Re: how do I install a cdimage?

OK, I was afraid of those answers, it would be much easyer if HP have had a depot file ready for download packed as a tgz file.

Coolmar, that link is just where I downloaded my evaluation version from. I don't have any license, which is pretty expencive. Therefor I want to test it before I consider buying it. The evaluation version is on cdimage format.

Thanks all for quick answers. You will be credited ;)
