You are 100 % right on these security issues.

The aim of this prog is more to use some misconfiguration in some Redmond OS... the prog works only in old Linux versions, as it's not supported, and I've no source, that's why I tried this, Linux box get the software installed, acts as a client on the network.

Normally, a m$ box should be configured to give a few informations as possible also, but few admin seem to care. Did you read Natio*al Sec*rty Ag*ncy tips on win 2K ?
