We intend to put the database in archivelog mode but I can't have 1 OPS package activate OPS VGs and non OPS VGs (for archivelogs) in the same time
What's best practices for doing archivelog in this configuration ?
Thanks

Re: how to configure archivelog vg with SGeRAC
If you have your oracle data files on a shared volume group that gets accessed no matter which node is actually running the oracle application.
This is the way to go with archive logs. Besides backing them up regularly.

SolutionHP-UX has no cluster file system support yet (unless you use Veritas DBE-AC, but thats VCS rather than Serviceguard)
Basically you create seperate packages for each of your archive redo threads on each instance. The package is available for the local redo thread, and other instances can access this redo thread via NFS. If the node fails, then then its redo is available to other instances via package failover. When the node recovers, the package must come back so that the local instance can restart.
Some more notes on this on my post here:

Re: how to configure archivelog vg with SGeRAC
in RAC Oracle I usualy use for archivelog destination volumens on internal system disks.
There is no possibility to use shared rac vg for archivelog destination.

Re: how to configure archivelog vg with SGeRAC
maybe i'm missing the point or my question is not clear enough :
- we intend to install a 9.2 Oracle RAC database on 2 nodes
- each node has 1 package configured to activate the same VG in shared rw access using SLVM. So Oracle will use raw devices for datafiles...
- each node has also 1 FS in a regular VG for archive logs
The problem is that 1 package cannot activate the OPS shared VG and the regular VG.
Do I have to configure 2 packages for each node (1 for datafiles, 1 for archive logs) ?
another ideas ?
