how to set ulimit for an user in HP UNIX

Hello All,

How to set ulimit for an user in HP UNIX.

Setting the ulimit in /etc/profile (which is a read only file), gives the following error message when logging in to the user account.

.profile[53]: ulimit: The specified value exceeds the user's allowable limit.

.profile[56]: ulimit: The specified value exceeds the user's allowable limit.

we need the originating file where we could make the changes for a specific user/whole server.

Regards,

It would help if you actually showed us the lines you added to /etc/profile rather than just the error messages.
