Re: hp-ux11iv3 crash on integrity bl870c during os kernel boot

What command did you use to boot the backup kernel?

hpux> boot backup

The problem is, how to copy something if the system does not boot?

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

At first try to boot the system in single user mode. If it is still fail then try to boot the system from backup boot. It may fix your problem. For boot the system from backup boot:

1. go to Built in EFI shell
2.then execute map command for find out the existing file system. The output should have contain fs0, fs1, blk0 etc.

3. Then type fs0: ( If the system boot disk is internal)

4. then execute ls command for find out the existing file and directory. You will see a dir name backup

5. Now execute " boot backup" command. It may fix your problem.

If you failed to boot the system from "backup boot" let us know. It may require further investigate.

Hi,

Paul Aungshuman procedure is almost complete.

1. go to Built in EFI shell

2. Then type fs0: ( If the system boot disk is internal)

Shell> fs0:

3. run hpux

fs0:\> ls
fs0:\> cd efi
fs0:\EFI> ls
fs0:\EFI> cd hpux
fs0:\EFI\HPUX> hpux

4. run boot backup

HPUX> ls
backup boot.sys bootconf bootfs current
ioconfig kernrel krs last_install lost+found
nextboot rootconf system system.import system.prev
vmunix

HPUX> ls backup
.config README bootfs krs mod
system vmunix

HPUX> boot backup
Boot path is now: backup/vmunix

Log a call with HP support, to find out what caused the current kernel to not be able to boot.

Your panic says it's not able to find the root disk, can you please check if you have good connectivity to the disk, is it san disk or local disk.
