hpacucli modify issues
I have 2 boxes that were not built with their logical drives correctly. One was built with only one drive and the other was built with a drive in the wrong bay.
Issue #1:
ctrl slot=0 pd all show
Smart Array 6i in Slot 0
array A physicaldrive 1:1 (port 1:id 1 , Parallel SCSI, 146.8 GB, OK)
unassigned physicaldrive 1:0 (port 1:id 0 , Parallel SCSI, 146.8 GB, OK)
I tried:
controller slot=0 array A add spares=allunassigned
but got nowhere but errors that it hpacucli cannot handle this and cannot figure out how else to approach this.
Issue #2
ctrl slot=0 pd all show
Smart Array E200i in Slot 0
array A (Failed) physicaldrive 1I:1:1 (port 1I:box 1:bay 1, SAS, 72 GB, OK)
physicaldrive 1I:1:4 (port 1I:box 1:bay 4, SAS, 0 MB, Failed)
unassigned
physicaldrive 1I:1:2 (port 1I:box 1:bay 2, SAS, 72 GB, OK)
In issue2, it was built on a different box and the drives moved. I want to delete the physical drive 1I:1:4 then add the physical drive 1I:1:2.
No matter what I try I cannot modify delete or add anything in either case. Of course I want to keep the data on the good drive, but this is really getting to me.
Any help is MUCH appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: hpacucli modify issues
Shalom,
Assuming your goal is to consolidate the two drives to 1 drive.
Boot the box.
F8 when prompted by the Smart array prompt.
Use hardware raid.
