hponcfg/hp-health setup on debian fails
trying to configure my ilo remotely with hponcfg on a dl385 g1 with debian7.
followed the instructions here but hp-health cannot start.
Unpacking hp-health (from .../hp-health_9.4.0.1.7-5._amd64.deb) ... Selecting previously unselected package hponcfg. Unpacking hponcfg (from .../hponcfg_4.2.0.8-5._amd64.deb) ... and i do not see any hpasmd anywhere--
p1> find . . ./hp-health ./hp-health/examples ./hp-health/examples/lite-mgmt ./hp-health/examples/lite-mgmt/cma.conf.nosnmp ./hp-health/examples/lite-mgmt/hpsysmon.sh ./hp-health/examples/lite-mgmt/COPYING.txt ./hp-health/examples/lite-mgmt/README.txt ./hp-health/bin ./hp-health/bin/hpasmlited ./hp-health/bin/hpasmpld ./hp-health/bin/hpasmxld ./hp-health/bin/hp-asrd ./hp-health/hprpm.xpm ./hp-health/addons ./hp-health/addons/libcpqci64.a ./hp-health/hp-health.license ./hp-health/sh ./hp-health/sh/hpasmxld_reset.sh
i tried symlinking hpasmlited but that failed miserably.
i confirmed that this server does have compatilbe hardware:

Re: hponcfg/hp-health setup on debian fails
oh, i see. Do you have any suggestions on how I might reset the console port from Debian7?
the port seems hung - i cant ping it and it's not taking any TCP connections. the swithport sees the link "up" and i tried turning it down & up which made no difference. I can't cold-boot the box because I'm afraid that the operating system is not going to boot correctly, hence why i'm looking to fix the console port.

Re: hponcfg/hp-health setup on debian fails
also, the HPE website shows how to use hponcfg on debian, maybe they added support to debian after that support article was written

Re: hponcfg/hp-health setup on debian fails
installing the older version 8.7.0 as described here makes hp-health work. hponcfg still breaks, though:
# hponcfg HP Lights-Out Online Configuration utility Version 4.2.0 Date 6/10/2013 (c) Hewlett-Packard Company, 2013 ERROR: A general system error occurred while detecting Management Processor. ACTION REQUIRED: Check if iLO and iLO driver are up and running.
