hi
your question is not really clear, please Elaborate more,
what do you require, do you configured LUN in hpux system through SAN?

if you will do mirroring you should have primary and alternet path to boot your system,
i list out for your reference here on of my server mirrored path, hope this will help, thanks,

lvlnboot -v

Boot: lvol1 on: /dev/dsk/c1t0d0
/dev/dsk/c2t0d0
Root: lvol3 on: /dev/dsk/c1t0d0

Hi,

if you mean, ho to make multipath on the storage without "multipath SW", the answer is use PV links.

Which Storage Array are you using?

Any EMC array you will need PowerPath for Linux/HP-UX and for windows MPIO

HP I belive it's securepath
Netapp - not sure
Falconstor - dynapath

Each one of the products will give you Path Failover and can also be cross configured to give you load balancing.

If you want just Failover and that's it, then I would just use PVLINKS or if your Veritas, dpdm is what is used there (I don't think any other path failover is supported then that with veritas).

For each vendor I would check their respective manuals

emc = powerlink.emc.com
hp = docs.hp.com
netapp = now.netapp.com
falconstor = www.falconstor.com
