installing ignite 11.00

trying to install Ignite 11.00 (downloaded from hp website) on an N-class running 11.00

I currently have the Ignite-UX-11-00_C.6.2.241_HP-UX_B.11.00_32+64.depot file in /var/spool/sw with root/sys owner/group and 777 permissions.

swinstall -s /var/spool/sw leads to error

"there is currently no s/w on host at location /var/spool/sw"

why is this?

(and secondly, how can I identify if there is an auto reboot with this s/w install?)

Re: installing ignite 11.00

Hi,

Use the command

swinstall -s /var/spool/sw/Ignite-UX-11-00_C.6.2.241_HP-UX_B.11.00_32+64.depot

You also need to specify the depot file after the location.

Re: installing ignite 11.00

You should give full path to Ignite-UX depot as,

# swinstall -s /var/spool/sw/Ignite-UX-11-00_C.6.2.241_HP-UX_B.11.00_32+64.depot
Ignite-UX-11-00

Re: installing ignite 11.00

Hi Paul,

You can do this interactively with the command without any options:

#swinstall

Re: installing ignite 11.00

the full path has now allowed the .depot file to be analysed by swinstall, and I can analyse without installing.

From the swinstall man page, it looks like a -X [option] allows you to set the auto reboot on or off also when installing.

Thanks
