ioctl error
Hi guys,
While performing Database ( SYBASE ) dump to tape, I receive the following errors.
Apr 12 08:00:00 2005: D00: SYBMULTBUF WARNING: Unable to initialize Async IO on the database device '/dev/vg29/rpns_d1'. Operating System call open failed with error code = 16 , Message= Device busy, State= 61.
Can somebody tell me the meaning of the error code " error code = 16 "

Re: ioctl error
Many databses require asyncrhonous I/O to work right. There is a setup file called /etc/setprivgrp that lets you allow for asyncrhonous i/o.
Other possible causes are writes that are not complete.
