kernel panic when deataching cdrom
i have a HP ProLiant DL140 G2 server that doesnt have a cdrom, i put a PCs´ one. the installation is working fine.
but, when i deatach the cdrom to put it back to the PC, the server give me an kernel panic error.
what can i do to deatach the cdrom from the server and boot the linux without problems?
ill really aprecieate any help

welcome to the ITRC forums !
Did you detach the CD whilst the system was running? I hope you waited until shut down.
To remove properly, attach the CD, boot up and then remove the CD from the system as a device (reverse of what you did to get the system to recognise the drive), so the kernel is notified that now there is no CD. Then you can reboot without problem.

i deatached with the system halted.
now i connect it, unmount the CD-ROM halt system, remove the CD-ROM physically, restart the server and kernel panic.
