legato networker recover fails

Hi everyone,

i'm using an v-class machine with hp-ux 11.11 and networtker client 5.5 build.38.

Backup works fine, but if i try do an recover with multiple saveset-ids (recover -s server -S xxx -S yyy -S zzz) i get immediate the following errors:

- recover: recover of rsid 38495 failed: recover: RPC error, Port mapper failure
recover: recover of rsid 38494 failed: recover: RPC error, Port mapper failure
recover: recover of rsid 38474 failed: recover: RPC error, Port mapper failure
recover: recover of rsid 38500 failed: recover: RPC error, Port mapper failure
recover: recover of rsid 38497 failed: recover: RPC error, Port mapper failure

if i put a tusc (tusk -p)on the recover process, the recover works fine. We already changed the networker-server on a faster machine but the same problem shows up.

it seems that the v-class ist to fast and only the tusc slows the maschine down, so that the reponse of the server reaches early enough.

please help !!

I think you should upgrade to NW-Server 6.0.1

I had problems with portmapper under 5.5 also.

Don't upgrade you client if you are using MC Service Guard. Client release 6 does not run without additional cluser licenses from Legato.

that's one of my problems: the machine is a cluster-node, so i can't do an update to 6.0.2 at this time, sorry
