i try to execute the kill comand, but nothing,
and after timed out, +- 10 minutes,
then i start the listener again.

Where can i set in the hp-ux the port 1521 to 30 seconds(timed out) the conection to the user after the user desconect.

Re: listener Problem

Fernando

Not to sure I understood your pb.
there is a parameter CONNECT_TIMEOUT_listener_name or
INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT_ from 9i onwards.

default is 10 seconds

May you could give more details on error messages (anything in the log) ?

Re: listener Problem

Taking a stab at your problem, prefer if you can shed more light on it though? Within Oracle you can enable dead connection detection so that disconnected users have their corresponding server processes removed thereby reducing the listener load.

hope it helps!

Re: listener Problem

HI fernando,

have a look at the following url:
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96533/network.htm

you may also wish to define user profiles and configure the following resource parameters:
CONNECT_TIME
CPU_PER_CALL
CPU_PER_SESSION
SESSIONS_PER_USER

hope this helps too!

kind regards

Re: listener Problem

A lot of users?

Are there more users trying to connect to the database then you have oracle connections available?

Better check the number of oracle processes too...
