low system resources

I am consistently running low system resources. I am running Windows 98 on a
new Pavilion 8575C PC. I spoke with Phoenix and we removed everything from the
Start Menu. My resources went back up to 83%. They are down to 68% after 3
days. I have not added any new software. I am at a loss because when they
reached 48%, the system failed to boot completely. Please help.

Re: low system resources

hi i work for hp pavilion support. your resources are low because you have too
many programs running. try clicking on start click on run, type "msconfig" hit
enter. at the next upcoming window move the little black dot to "selective
start up" under that take out the top two checks(process config.sys and
atuoexec.bat file) then take the bottom check out( load start up group). the go
to the start up tab and put a ckeck next to: scanregistery, system tray,
keyboard manager, vshin32exe. then click apply, ok, and yes. this will restart
your computer to 86% resources without deleting anything.

Re: low system resources

Hi there,
Also check:
1. Start | Startup for any programs invoked during bootup.
2. check win.ini for any initialised programs.
Not everything that can be counted counts; & not everything that counts can be counted.
