Re: mail not delivered
uname -a
> (Deferred: Connection refused by abc.com)
Normally, "Connection refused" means that
there's no suitable server running (or
registered) on the port requested. For
e-mail, I'd guess port 25, and for HP-UX,
I'd guess that "abc.com" is not running
"sendmail" (or some similar mail agent).
With my weak psychic powers, I have no idea
where you're running this "mailx" command, or
exactly what what this command says, or what
"abc.com" might really be.
> kindly help us to solve the problme
You first. You might start by showing what
you're doing. As usual, showing actual
commands with their actual output can be more
helpful than vague descriptions and
interpretations. When you provide almost no
useful information about what you're doing,
hiding actual details ("abc.com") only makes
everything harder.

Re: mail not delivered
Also learn how to assign points to those who try to help with their time & responses to your query:
Your profile says:
I have assigned points to 101 of 167 responses to my questions.
Make it 167 of 167 and you will see a change in response to your threads, subjected to how you post the question and not like this one as mentioned by Steven above.

-Have you checked the DS setting for mail realy server on /etc/mail/sendmail.cf file. DS= should be mentioned there.
Can you reach to that server with ping.
- Also do /sbin/init.d/sendmail stop or # killsm
- Then /sbin/init.d/sendmail start and check again.
Hth,
Raj.

Re: mail not delivered
HI
a) ps -ef | grep -i sendmail (* NO? then b) )
b) /sbin/init.d/sendmail start
c) /var/adm/syslog/mail.log (* post errors here *)
d) mailq (* same problem? then c) )
e) echo test | mailx -s "SUBJECT OF EMAIL" foo@foobar.com (* test email *)
f) grep DS /etc/mail/sendmail.cf (* note mail server hostname, i.e., DSmailserver.com *)
g) nslookup mailserver.com
h) nslookup ip address of mailserver.com
If you have to add mailserver.com into /etc/mail/sendmail.cf then you'll have to
/sbin/init.d/sendmail stop / start
