maxdsize

are there some computation if i'm going to increase the maxdsize of my HP-ux 10.20 to 1.1GB. Is there a limitations on HP-UX 10.20, that if we raeched/oversize the maximum size of the maxdsize the system won't boot up. By the way I have a 3.5 GB physical memory on my server.

thanks

Re: maxdsize

10.20 being a 32 bit OS,the maximum memory a process can take will be only 960Mb.

To enable more use of memory the EXEC_MAGIC should be enabled on the executable to handle more memory.

So having a maxdsiz more than 1GB will not have any impact on your application.

Check the Memory management white papers.
Will link if I find one.
