Re: modem problems after installing riptide audio driver download

Albert,
Regarding your last response, I have a few questions. I did remove the modem and when the computer restarted it found the modem and installed new software. There is no yellow exclamation point by it. I didn't know what you meant by "Bios setup" so I couldn't do that. I'm trying to download the Norton Utilities, but it will be downloading on my old computer, not the one I'm having problems with. I saved the first part to disk, and put that on the "Problem" computer, but the second download appears to be going to the harddrive?? Not sure if I'll be able to transfer it or not. Thanks for your helps so far.

Re: modem problems after installing riptide audio driver download

Mary Kay,

Don't worry about the BIOS Setting then.

If your modem driver is reinstalled, and there is no Yellow dot, have you tried to reconfigure your dialer?

I am not sure if you are having a problem with the Autodialer or Faxing Software. Either way you look at, I would recommend that you at least try it. It appears that the Norton Utilities takes a little while to download. However I certainly recommend it, it helped to resolve my modem problems.

Hope that helps!!

Re: modem problems after installing riptide audio driver download

Albert,
Thanks for your response. I tried the dial properties, etc. From what I can tell I think the problems is somewhere in the port. The computer installs the modem to COM3, but the "more info" on the port says, "unable to open port" and then this comes up:
Interrupt: 0
Address: 3E8
Highest speed: No response and then it lists the modem and Identifier PC1/R558007 with nothing underneath.
This isn't right is it?
Thanks again,
Mary Kay

Re: modem problems after installing riptide audio driver download

Ok,

Unnecessary commentary regarding the Windoze Flexible OS.

Back to work.

I would like you to remove both the Riptide Sound Drivers and the modem drivers and reboot.

Quick question, how many serial ports does your machine have? You can probably check the Device manager and confirm the number of serial ports you have on the computer.

This information is important, because it will tell you which port we can set the modem to. COM3 shares the IRQs with COM1. If there is no COM2, then you will be much better off using COM2 than COM3 for your modem.

We the system reboots, it will relocate the riptide and modem drivers. Test out the modem and let me know how it's going.

Have a Great Night!

Oh my gosh! I just noticed that my display now has a Submit button on it!!!!
