monitoring system

Hi All
i want a monitoring tool software that i can install on my win 2K system to monitor my linux or even HP Unix system and get the desired alert specially soung alerts

I use what's up gold. It allows to monitor sysstems for running services.In case the service is down - it can alert in many ways.
The software isn't free though.

If you're talking ProLiant, Integrity or HP9000 servers, don't forget about HP Systems Insight Manager. Can be hosted on Windows or Linux (IA32) or HP-UX (PA and IPF) and can monitor any combination. It even provides easy access to HP-UX SAM functions.

Consider nagios which is the reworked netsaint.
Use the web interface from Windows. It provides agents for your servers and allows fine grained control over who gets notified how.

Also consider mon which is a lighter weihght tool similar to netsaint. It is perl based and might run under window. It also offers web based access to its status monitors.
