monitoring system
i want a monitoring tool software that i can install on my win 2K system to monitor my linux or even HP Unix system and get the desired alert specially soung alerts

Use the web interface from Windows. It provides agents for your servers and allows fine grained control over who gets notified how.
Also consider mon which is a lighter weihght tool similar to netsaint. It is perl based and might run under window. It also offers web based access to its status monitors.
