movie player
hi
i want to run movies on my linux 8.0 system, the extensions are .dat, .mov, .mpeg, .mpg. Plz suggest me the player which supports all these extensions.

In 'Linux 8.0' I suppose you mean RedHat 8.0. Xine and XMMS are players I've used with RedHat. However with both programs I've had some problems and novadays use mplayer by command line. There's GUI for it also, but at least in my box it's unstable and not worth mentioning. I'm not sure what file format is 'dat,' (raw audio samples?) but mplayer supports loads of formats. realplayer does have a Linux version.
I don't use .0 operating systems, but it worked great with 6.2 and 7.3 Red Hat.

XMSS does work well as long as you have all of the required "updated" extensions...
