How to check the current niceness value of a process?

you can view the nice value from the top command

thanks sunny for ur quick reply,but top command is giving only top processes nice values and only 25 processed are shown on the screen.how to check the nice value of a process that is not shown under top command

Hi,

the ps command has a column 'NI' (use ps -elf) - this is where the nice value of a process is reported.

Hi,

U can scroll down the top o/p pagewise by using
j to scroll down and k to scroll up.
Otherwise u can use,

# ps -l
