nohup

Hi,

I have a user that connect to the hpux 11iv2 and issue a nohup scriptname, this script is critical to us. The problem is the nice value is set to 24, instead of 20, so the process receive less ressources. If we run the script from the command line it run with a value of 20.

Is this a defautl of nohup?

Thanks,

Re: nohup

You can use nice to launch the command with a nice value or you can renice the process after it is started. The shell that nice launches the proces in is where the nice value is being inherited from.

Hi,

As per my knowledge all nice value starts with 20.
you can set priority value with nice command.
