we have catia v4 installed on our C8000 workstations and past 2 days on one of the workstation, catia v4 is going on restarting and even the demos in /opt/graphics/OpenGL/demos are not working.

And in the /var/dt/Xerrors, the following message is registered:

"OpenGL protocol rendering process (ogld) has died,
Please restart Xserver to restore OpenGL protocol rendering capability."

I have restarted this particular workstation many times but the ogld daemon is not starting.

how can i start this daemon?

Hi Time what is the operating system version
please send the output of uname -a

this problem normally happen hp-ux 11.22
do the following things and inform me the result


/etc/dt/config/Xconfig

and uncomment this line:

# Dtlogin*terminateServer: True

Then restart CDE:

/sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc stop

/sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc start
