optical USB mouse & HP-UX: any news?

Well... I read old msgs about this topic "USB mouse and HP-UX".  Maybe, there was no solution. My rx 1620 HP server (IA64), with HP-UX 11 v3 (no PS2 ports...), didn't recognizes my USB mouse, and surely an optical mouse, but the USB keyboard was okay. Solutions, any news about this?

HP-UX does not like any keyboard or mice with those fast internet keys. All we sell is HP-UX and have found that you should only use the most basic keyboard or mice without any fast key buttons. Some might work what thats what we have seen through out the years

The latest USB patch, PHKL_44189, is dated 2015 and there have many previous patches with critical warnings. If you can, I would load the latest USB patch to see if it works. But realize that HP-UX is not Windows and like most Unix systems, the command line (using ssh or telnet) is the primary tool for system adminstration (no KVM is necessary).

I don't know what is exactly a "fast internet keys". The mouse is a very *simple* mouse with 2 buttons, nothing more. But it´s optical and USB, because the server rx 1620 not has PS2 ports...

Yes, SSH is my preferential tool. But... The rx 1620 server has radeon chipset and a VGA port, two USBs to "human interface" (no PS2), so I would try to use a *simple* mouse and eventually work on my X desktop.

Could you send me the link to the patch? Thank you.

Re: optical USB mouse & HP-UX: any news?

Does "X" come up without the mouse now?

However, it may be more comfortable to work remotely, have a look at mobaxterm for example.

Hope this helps!

Re: optical USB mouse & HP-UX: any news?

Well, I used the script dr_dt with a lot of info: 0 error messages and 15 warnings messages, almost about permissions settings, but nothing about mices or USB interfaces...

I used a XWin client too. I loaded a XDMCP directly a server, I received the Dtlogin screen, but after the login/passwd the X session remains stalled in the copyright messages.

regards
