Hi All,

PUBLIC VSDB.US.ORACLE.COM

can anyone help me?
thanx.

Re: oracle db link

It looks to me like the previous reply ought to give you any information you need, but I can't really tell what your question is. It sounds like you have already created your database link (a public database link called vsdbus.oracle.com). I am guessing your list is from a query to dba_db_links?

Are you having problems using the link? Getting error messages?

Re: oracle db link

Jeanine,
my is that when I query dba_db_links, I see my dblink with domain .US.ORACLE.COM and I don't know where this domain was set. My domain is VSUL...

thanx,

Re: oracle db link

The default domain for the database is set in the init.ora file.

If left unset in the init.ora file, it defaults to .world (at least in my version).

You can also set it through "alter database rename global_name to" command.

Re: oracle db link

I should have mentioned the parameter name in the iinit.ora file. It is db_domain.

The format is:

db_domain = domain
