Simpler Navigation for Servers and Operating Systems
Completed: a much simpler Servers and Operating Systems section of the Community. We combined many of the older boards, so you won't have to click through so many levels to get at the information you need. Check the consolidated boards here as many sub-forums are now single boards.

oracle forms and reports

hi all,

we have oracle forms and reports on a hpux 11.11 server. different groups need specific access to sub-folders in the oracle filesystem, but oracle owns it and the access by default is 700.
is there any way around this?

thx in advance

Re: oracle forms and reports

Shalom,

Change the umask for the oracle user.

su -

umask

post. Will recommend a new one.

To change whats there:

# run the next command from a directory were every sub folder is supposed to belong to oracle user above.

chmod -R ### *
