pc starts beeping

after transfering some files from hard disk to hard disk. i switch my pc off then when i turn it on again, my pc starts to beep.

It's a bit hard to say without at least knowing what make and model PC and what operating system you are using but my guess would be you probably did something to the video driver. Do you see any video? Can you get into BIOS setup? Safe mode? Is there a pattern to the beeps or are they continuous. (Could indicate an overheat condition or bad memory or bad video.)

im using win98 and my motherboard is msi k7 2 pro. the beeps are continuous. i cant get into BIOS.

I think you have AMI BIOS. The beep codes for it can be found on:

http://bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm

However, they do not list a continuous beep as an option.

I'd remove the CMOS battery wait a while and put it back. See if that reset the CMOS to default config.

it's award bios. the beeps stop when i push the ram. i think it was loose but i dont even have touch it.

Yes, if it is award bios, the beep continuos is error of memory.
