printer problem
My problem is before when i was working on Oracle 8.0.5 on DG-unix platform and 11.0.3 application server on windows NT my epson printers used to work properly. But with oracle 9i on HP-UX and 11.5.9 application server on HP-UX my printers are not working
specially epson. Does anybody have any idea why is it so.
My HP printers are working fine.
The command i use is
lp -d printer_name filename

Re: printer problem
are as follows:
1. Setup and verify the operation of the printer and print queue at
the operating system level--test from the OS command line prompt.
2. Identify, select, or define a new Apps printer drivers that will
support the specified printer make or model.
3. Identify, select, or define a new Apps printer type to register
all needed printer styles and drivers.
4. Register an Apps printer name and associate an Apps printer type
to the newly registered printer name.
Note: Please keep in mind that Apps printer driver information is cached
in memory, the concurrent manager will need to be bounced in order
to make any recent changes take effect.
For detailed instructions, please review the chapter titled "Printers" in
the Oracle Applications System Administrator's Guide.

Re: printer problem
What is exactly the problem, are your prints not printing or is the output not what you expect it to be.

Re: printer problem
Declare your printer as a dumb printer using the dumb or genericprinter script and try that
Then you know if the connection works.
Epson - What type of epson
How could you choose the same scripts since it is a different system
What does lpstat -pprintername -vprintername
show
Start your spooler with lpsched -v
try 2 prints
do lpshut
lpsched
