problem printing to 8500dn

I have written a simple program in VB that has print functionality. I can successfully print to a variety of printers except the 8500dn. While printing to the 8500dn, the print spooler seems to hang and then the print job terminates with only a partial print as the output. Unfortunately, this is the ONE printer that I need to be able to print to the most. Has anyone experienced something similar? Can someone point me in the right direction? Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this to happen? Thanks.
