Re: problems on installing red hat

RedHat 8.0 is way old and that time there were no SATA HDD available. Try using Fedora Core 4 which is latest and has support for SATA hard disk.

Try downloading it from http://fedora.redhat.com

Fedora Core 4 is a community driven distribution which resembles RedHat upto 99%.

Hope this helps,

Re: problems on installing red hat

Is there any other OS on system?? does it detect the disk?? Does biod detect the disk??

Unless you see it in biod, red hat won't be able to see it.
There is no substitute to HARDWORK

Re: problems on installing red hat

If you have sata hard disk use latest release
like Fedora core 4 Redhat is now to old, the Bios has to see the disk before it can be seen by the booting kernel/modules also post dmesg or boot log here if you need futher help so we can try and help you out.

Re: problems on installing red hat

Hi,

Do you have any concern that have to install RH 8.0?

If not, Fedora Core 4 is high recommanded for you 915G chipset board. RH 8.0 is too old for your board.
