rcp : Lost Connection

I tried to perform an rcp command and each time I received lost connection. When I make research, it's seem that the problem is unable to connect with a socket....How can resolv it. which file can I check? what parameter I need to enter to correct it?

It could be a networking problem:

nic
wiring
router

Check ping times
Check traceroute look for hangups.

Check .rhosts files.
