riptide audio driver
Hi,
I have Fedora 3 running on HP4535. It needs the riptide audio driver. I don't see a binary version compatible with kernel 2.6 on the conexant site. It does have a "generic" version which I installed ( riptide-0.6lnxtbeta03122800-1.i386.rpm ).
When I tried to run xmms on a mp3 file it complained about not able to open device /dev/dsp. Should the driver have created this device? Or may be it should be linked to some device already created by the driver?

ll /dev/dsp
It might just be a permissions issue.

Re: riptide audio driver
I checked the /dev dir. There is no dsp file there. Has anyone used this driver on a 2.6 kernel?
