runInstaller error excute permission denied on hpux

ls -l runInstaller? what are the permissions on the file
Are you logged in as oracle?
you can try sh runInstaller

The Oracle Installer also requires xwindows, so verify your DISPLAY variable and make sure other xwindows application work first.

maybe you want to check if this needs to be run as oracle or root.

Could you provide more informations about the error?
At least the whole error msg reported should be pasted here. :)

BTW, check the runInstaller file permisson , and don't change the original permission for all installation files.

where are you running it from?

from the bin directory (same as ../oui/install/) or the installation DVD?

Hi Rama,

I was also trying to installe Oracle 9i on HP-UX.But System was giving me the same error,
"Permission denied" when I was trying to run the Installer. But later I installed Oracle 10g.

What I think is that you should check, which version of Oracle 9i you have downloaded??

may be it is for HP-ITANIUM server.just download the correct version.
