Can you explain why you want to print via smb on the linux box from a windows machine if you can print directly to the printserver from windows?

I also get a "access denied, unable to connect" error using a HP2100 via CUPS on Debian GNU/Linux. The strange thing is that the printer light starts flashing and if I press the button on the printer then the document gets printed! You have to do this for every document you send via Linux. Windows jobs don't have this problem. Anyone know the solution?
