sd-ux upgrade

Hi Y'll,

I am receiving an error on swinstall. I have looked at the "Managing HP-UX With SD-UX" manual but where do I request the update for SD for HP-UX 10.20.

Here is the Error:

WARNING: Invalid value defined for the keyword "data_model_revision",
at line 3. The value "2.40" is not a supported data model
revision. This release of the Software Distributor supports
the following values:

2.20 2.10 2.00
The SD product needs to be updated using the instructions in
the "Managing HP-UX With SD-UX" manual. Continuing to read
the file "/var/tmp/BAAa02513/catalog/INDEX" using the "2.20"
data model semantics. New attributes associated with the
"2.40" format will be ignored. Unrecognized attributes may
result in subsequent ERROR or WARNING messages. If errors
result from using the "2.20" semantics, you must update SD to
a version that supports the "2.40" "data_model_revision".

Thanks,

Mark

Re: sd-ux upgrade

Mark,

I recently had to update my SD-UX as we thought I had the wrong version.

Go to http://docs.hp.com and do a search for sd-ux and then scroll down and look at "Updating HP-UX (HP-UX 10.x)

You might also need to re-Patch for SD-UX.

This is of course assuming (careful using this word) that you need to fix SD-UX for 10.x.

Re: sd-ux upgrade

Hello,

you can try to include the following in your swinstall command:

-x layout_version=0.8

Other than that you will find the sdux on the core cd . If you have a newer core os cd just install the sdux again and make sure that you install the latest sd ux pacth as well.

check docs.hp.com for the install instructions (search for swgettools).

Newest patch for 10.20 is PHCO_20209

Re: sd-ux upgrade

It appears that the product that you are attempting to install was packaged with the HPUX 11.x version of the software distributor. Version 2.40 is needed for 11.x packages. Running swinstall or swcopy on a 10.x machine with an 11.x package will produce this type of error. I would make sure that the package is really meant for a 10.x architecture before installing it further.
