Is it possible to send a folder with all its contents without having to send all files separately. The folder is 155 mg/b

Where do you want to send it to? In general, I would say: zip it, then ftp it.

Another option is to FTP the zipped file to a personal website, and then download the zipped file from the intended destination.

155MB is too large for most email servers to handle as an ordinary email attachment.

As a last resort, you would need to burn the files onto a CD-R, and mail it. This is not a bad option, if you want to make sure that the files do not get modified.

You could also use IM to attach a zipped file. I have never used this method. Here is a link that talks about it:

The previous posts listed all of the problems with trying to email it.

I would zip the folder, then host it off of your server for either FTP or HTTP download. Then, in your email, provide a link to the download.

Another problem with this issue. The person received the zip file, but can not get it to down load. an error comes up
"Exception Type: class java.lang.SecurityException
URL: /transfer/download.html

Status: 500

Servlet Name"

JOE I THINK THERE IS AN ERROR AS I DONT HAVE HTML, if that is a concern.
I wrote to the company just now but could not forward the error part.

This java error does not have anything to do with firewall/virus scanner settings.

There is plenty of online technical info about this particular java error, but it is only useful to website programmers, not end users.

My suggestion would be to have the recipient download the most recent java runtime from the following link: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html . , The J2SE Java Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications...

The download button is labeled 'Download J2SE JRE'.

Also, it is not clear to me if the folder is still on the sendthisfile.com website, or if the file has been transferred from the website to the recipient.

She tried to dowload it from www.sendthisfile.com I have not received a reply yet that she managed to download it from them. If she can't, I will try to send it via http://www.pando.com/share_big_file the URL you provided.

Hi Joe, the are many ways:

1) You can use "winrar" tool to split your folder in many files with the right size and send it by e-mail.
2) You can use many file-sharing sites:
http://rapidshare.com/
http://share.gulli.com/
and so on ...
3) You can use the google mail (2GB) or other e-mail provider to share your zipped file.
