sendmail with HTML messages incl images

Can anyone tel me how I can compose a HTML mail with picture include in the HTML pages.
I send my mail using following command.
I create the file format myself
cat file | sendmail destination

Download Outlook Express for unix...... (from microsoft internet explorer site)
