service port limit

Dear Sir:
I want to know is there any service port limit ?
I have a TIBCO RV services
on both 10.20 or 11.0 OS.
But I found that if more than 200 or so connection , I can't add any more connection on it.
Is there any where I can modify ? kernel ? or It's the limitation?
thanks
Jack

Re: service port limit

The telnet is fine.
I say some port like Oracle used.Or just like the rv services port 7500.
If there is more than 200 connection, the next one can't connect to the server.
thanks

Re: service port limit

Sounds to me like you want to tune your tcp/ip parameters. Specifically, tuning the tcp_conn_request_max and related parameters will probably help you.

Please review this excellent tuning guide. It's based on Solaris, but almost everything applies to HP-UX as well.
