settiong up v40 printer in Mwpis Linux
settiong up v40 printer in Mwpis Linux
I installed the drivers required that were in the Mepis install and also downloaded the driver from the Linux Drivers site. When doing the test print page, Linux says that the message has been sent to the printer. The printer liight flashes and the printer makes a clicking sound one time like it wants to pick up the paper, but doesn't touch the paper and the light continues to flash. The machine just does not do any printing.
The V40 works perfect on Win 98
Thanks for your input, Tom Wiggins

Re: settiong up v40 printer in Mwpis Linux
I suppose V40 is a supercharged version of the V8 vegetable juice ;-)
Seriously, can you please give a little more detail on your setup like a manufacturer name for the printer and the Linux distribution and version you are using?
Greetings, Martin

I'm trying to use it on a Mepis Linux system.
Thanks, Tom

seems this should work, have a look at
http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=HP-OfficeJet_V40
concerning installation details.
