size
Some general questions.
1. What is the max size of vg and lv supported on rhel5.
2. Max no of luns which can be gfs mounted through redhat cluster.
We are having eva6400 and we presented 3tb * 9 luns to the cluster servers from the nearline diskgroup. Im able to create vg but gives error on lv creation.
Cluster nodes are bl460g6.

Re: size
I would like to see the command used for the lvcreate and a cut and paste of the error code.
These luns are not too big and the number of luns is far below the maximum.

Re: size
It depend what lvm v1 or v2 and type of servers you choose
On rhel5, you have the lvm2, so look for example to
http://tldp.org/HOWTO/LVM-HOWTO/lvm2faq.html
"For 64-bit CPUs on 2.6 kernels, the maximum LV size is 8EB"
Hope it helps

Re: size
we rebooted both the nodes and now able to format with gfs.
we added the newly created mount points using cluster utility.
but the new mount points take ages to mount and at times dont mount.
is there any tuning requird for gfs
total no of mounts are 1.2T *7 and 3T* 9 luns.
