I am seeing a constant flow of the following message in the /var/adm/syslog/ mail.log file:

Is there a possible configuration  issue here?

Too bad you did not specify your HP-UX version, nor if you had installed an upgraded version of sendmail or not.

In the Release Notes for Sendmail 8.13.3 for HP-UX, this is listed as a known defect, fixed in bundle version C.8.13.3.3 and later:

I apologize for not providing the full context. I usually do so.

We are running HPUX 11.31 IA.

Evidently we were ONE version back from the fix. I have installed the patcht and the issue is resolved.
