smbdpasswd
After deleting passwds form the /opt/samba/private/smdpasswd doee one have to run any commands fot it to be reread?

Not really.. No need to reread any file after changes made on smbpasswd

Hi Carlos,
I believe the smbpasswd file is only read when someone is in the process of authenticating, so you won't need to re-read it.
I don't think it will make any difference to someone with a mapped share if their password is removed - ie I doubt they will be disconnected just because you've removed their smbpasswd entry. I haven't actually tested this though.

Every time you change the password on the user granted CIFS access , you need to re-run the smbpasswd command again. Unless you've configured smb.conf to authorize users based on a Primary Domain Controller.
